A recent leak of iOS 26 has set the tech world abuzz, offering a sneak peek into Apple's upcoming product lineup. The leak reveals a treasure trove of unreleased hardware projects, from iPhones and iPads to MacBooks and beyond. But here's where it gets controversial: some of these products were previously thought to be shelved or delayed.
The leak originated from a prototype iPhone running an early build of iOS 26, which was sold and subsequently made its operating system publicly available. Researchers delved into the code, uncovering a wealth of information about Apple's current projects.
Among the findings, MacRumors highlights the presence of multiple unreleased product identifiers, including the same Mac codes revealed by AppleInsider last October. This leak serves as further confirmation of the detailed Mac release timeline we outlined, covering every Mac release through late 2026.
We can expect the M5 MacBook Air to debut in early 2026, followed by the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro, along with a new budget-friendly MacBook. Later in 2026, we'll see an updated Mac mini powered by the M5 and M5 Pro chips, as well as two new Mac Studio configurations. The redesigned M6 Pro and M6 Max MacBook Pros will make their debut in late 2026, while the base M6 model will retain the current MacBook Pro design.
But it's not just about Macs. The iOS 26 code leak also reveals details about the AirTag 2, known internally as B589, and the second-generation Apple Studio display, referred to as J427 and J527. The next-generation Apple AirTags will maintain their current design but offer improved range and location tracking.
The long-awaited Apple Home Hub also makes an appearance in the code, with its identifiers listed as J491 (mounted variant) and J490 (base version).
Two new iPad models are also in the works, the iPad 12 (J581 and J582) and the 11-inch and 13-inch variants of the M4 iPad Air (J707, J708, J737, and J738).
In terms of iPhones, the early iOS 26 code mentions the iPhone 17e (V159), the supposedly delayed iPhone Air 2 (V62), the iPhone 18 (V63), and the iPhone 18 Pro Max (V64). The highly anticipated iPhone Fold is also listed, matching previous leaks that referred to it as V68.
The iOS 26 filesystem leak also reveals two new Apple Watch models: the Apple Watch Ultra 4 (N240) and the Apple Watch Series 11 (N237 and N238).
As for successors to the Apple Vision Pro, a second-generation headset is in development (N109), along with a lightweight model (N100).
Interestingly, the early iOS 26 code also references Apple's planned AR glasses (N421), which were allegedly scrapped, as well as Mac-connected smart glasses (N107), a potential competitor to Meta Ray-Bans. These smart glasses are listed under the product identifier N50 but are now reportedly known as N401.
The software also lists several unknown products (J190, J226, J349, N110, N209, and N216), which could be anything from iPads and displays to robotics or projects similar to the Home Hub. Based on Apple's naming conventions, it's likely that N110, N209, and N216 are wearable products, possibly new versions of the Apple Vision Pro or Apple Watch.
